Discover a timeless design combined with modern upgrades with the IWI Galil ACE Gen 2, an assault rifle built around the reliable mechanism of the original Galil rifle and now featuring continuous improvements that result in improved precision and handling efficiency.
Made for ACE-brand stocks/folding mechanisms with the boss, this adapter features a pocket that snugly fits around it to strengthen and prevent play in the tool. Compatible with various braces, it can even be used to build registered SBRs.
Features
The Galil ACE represents the latest in an impressive line of Israeli-designed assault rifles. Inspired by both AR-15 and AK-47 models, its design incorporates several unique features – a two-piece Picatinny rail along the top receiver as well as removable cheekpiece to raise the shooter’s line of sight for use with optics; additionally, this rifle accepts Magpul MOE or STANAG magazines for optimal use.
The upper portion of the receiver is constructed from ordnance-grade steel, while its lower section – made entirely out of high-impact polymer – houses the magazine well, trigger guard, and lightly textured pistol grip. In addition, this gun comes equipped with an additional storage compartment in its buttstock to stash any extra ammunition that might come up during its lifespan.
Like its original Galil counterpart, the Galil ACE utilizes a reciprocating charging handle on the left side of its receiver that makes operation simpler for those with weaker hands. Furthermore, there is also an easy-to-reach bolt release button and dedicated bolt release button accessible with one finger – plus an ambidextrous safety/fire selector for operation with either hand!
ACE features a long Picatinny rail that allows users to mount optics such as red-dot sights and lasers easily, without interference with optic zeroing. The two-piece rail fits securely into both the upper receiver and gas tube without any movement that could interfere with optic zeroing. In addition, an attached recoil buffer cushions recoiling parts from recoiling activities while also damping vibration to increase accuracy potential.
The Galil ACE rifle is manufactured in the US using both American and imported parts to meet 18 USC 922(r). While compatible with various stocks and folding brace mechanisms, the KNS Precision Galil ACE stock adapter provides maximum strength and compatibility; precisely, it fits ACE brand stocks that feature bosses, which help increase muscle while decreasing play.
Material
Israel Weapon Industries’ Galil ACE assault rifle and pistol is designed with accuracy, durability, and reliability in difficult battlefield conditions at its heart. Utilizing a long-stroke piston operating system similar to M1 Garands and AK47s – giving longer stroke length and higher pressure for greater power and accuracy.
IWI Galil ACE rifles are ideal for tactical situations of all kinds, as they’re capable of firing both 5.56mm and 7.62x39mm ammunition. Their barrel is cold-hammer-forged and chrome-lined for 5.56mm ammunition and has either a 1:7″ or 1:9.5″ twist rate, while for 7.62x39mm rounds, they feature either 1:12″ or 2:20″. Additionally, its stock features a simple tubular paratrooper design, allowing quick collapsing into eight positions or adjustment without tools – providing optimal flexibility during any tactical situation.
IWI US’s Galil ACE rifles are built upon the proven mechanism of IMI’s original Galil assault rifle first created in the late 60s. Over time, continuous improvements have produced today’s highly reliable and accurate Galil ACE. Additionally, Gen 2 models provide enhanced magazine compatibility as well as free-float M-Lok handguards, side-folding adjustable telescoping buttstock compatible with M4 stocks, as well as an updated trigger profile.
The KNS Precision Galil ACE Stock Adapter was created to attach various stocks and folding mechanisms to the Galil ACE platform easily. It features a pocket explicitly designed to accommodate an ACE brand folding mechanism WITH boss, increasing strength while decreasing play. It is compatible with many other folding means brands as well, making this an excellent way to build registered SBRs with Galil ACE.
This bundle from DoubleStar includes their ACE AKFX(L) or AKFX(S) Skeleton Stock and Push-Button Folding Mechanism WITH or WITHOUT Boss (FSM-PB). Both stocks feature lightweight and compact designs while offering sturdy construction – plus multiple convenient QD Swivel pockets on either side of their shoulder stock plate for convenient QD use.
Length
The Galil ACE is a modernized version of Israel Weapon Industries’ original Israeli assault rifle, the Galil. This modernized design takes advantage of all its best features while improving them; similar to the M1 Garand and AK-47 it uses a long stroke piston system, helping reduce recoil while maintaining accuracy while remaining lightweight.
The Galil ACE offers numerous accessories, such as forearm rails and telescoping buttstocks, that make it more versatile than ever. The forearm features MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails on both the bottom and sides, which are ideally suited to mounting optics aiming optics as well as routing channels for electric wiring used by pressure switch-activated accessories. A quick detachable polymer covering can also be fitted quickly so as to protect these rails when not in use.
Galil ACE features an ergonomic firing position through its side-folding adjustable telescoping buttstock with M4 stock compatibility, which allows its length to be set from 62.5 to 73 cm based on user height. In addition, this buttstock comes complete with six-position adjustable cheek pieces and skeletonized hinges to ensure maximum stability during firing.
IWI has successfully promoted and sold its Galil ACE weapon as a versatile option for law enforcement and military use, with sales occurring worldwide – particularly Colombia’s army (the largest in Latin America with over 450,000 soldiers). Colombia adopted the Galil ACE as their go-to weapon.
Although the Galil ACE is an impressive firearm, it does have its own set of shortcomings. For instance, its sloping grip makes it difficult for users to comfortably hold it when in a prone position – something especially problematic for snipers who must stay there for extended periods. A vertical foregrip can help improve ergonomics and accuracy while in this position.
The Galil ACE comes in three caliber options and can be equipped with an optical sight. Its optics rail is a two-piece construction with the front portion mounted to the gas tube and rear section being secured onto the top cover for extra stability compared to a single machined rail in its receiver; nevertheless, it still serves as an effective platform for mounting optical devices.
Weight
IWI US’s Galil Ace rifle builds upon the proven design of its predecessor assault rifle and incorporates various enhancements that improve magazine compatibility and decrease weight, providing law enforcement or recreational shooters with an AK platform without compromising accuracy. It makes an ideal choice.
The Galil ACE rifle has been completely overhauled with new trigger, safety, and receiver components to reduce recoil and muzzle blast compared to traditional AK rifles while still producing daylight, visible flash, and audible noise with each shot.
The ACE comes in both Pistol and Rifle versions, each capable of chambering 7.62x39mm rounds that feed via AK magazines. Both models also boast 16″ cold hammer-forged barrels fitted with chrome plating, M-Lok handguards, and free-floating M-Lock front sight, and rear aperture sights for optimal shooting experience.
IWI US took great care in making sure the ACE remains as lightweight as possible, eliminating folding mechanisms. Our Galil ACE Skeleton Stock NON-FOLDING Combo allows users to attach a sturdy yet lightweight AKFX Skeleton stock from DoubleStar directly to our Galil ACE Stock Adapter without using folding mechanisms; saving both weight and length! When selecting an AKFX Skeleton stock to mount on their ACE, make sure it folds to the right side without interfering with charging handles or interfering with any charging handles that may interfere with them when mounting it.
As part of our evaluation of the Galil ACE, we tested various AK magazines from US PALM and Tapco models to Bulgarian smooth/waffle magazines as well as surplus steel drum magazines; all proved reliable when used in it. A centrally located magazine release promotes ambidextrous functionality; however, due to no last-round hold open provision, or bolt have available device, this magazine did not drop free and is therefore non-drop free.
A Galil ACE stands out from traditional AKs with its Picatinny rail on top, designed for attaching optics such as an EOTech sight or magnifying optic. Furthermore, this accessory allows the use of various accessories like flash hiders and muzzle devices that direct blast forward.
