Fenty Skin Care Review

Fenty Skin offers three multitasking products for maximum benefit: cleanser, toner-serum hybrid, and moisturizer/SPF. The latter was created with black people in mind as it won’t leave behind white casts on all skin tones or flashbacks in photos.

The formula contains Barbados cherry, ginkgo biloba, green tea, fig, and quince to control oil and clarify skin while brightening with vitamin C and niacinamide. Hyaluronic acid and baobab provide additional hydration. Furthermore, eco-friendly packaging with 40% PCR content completes the package.

Cleanser

Rihanna set out to change the makeup industry when she launched Fenty Beauty with its unprecedented variety of foundation shades in 2016. Two years later, in 2020, she introduced Fenty Skin, an environmentally-friendly skincare range designed to complement Fenty Beauty makeup that promises to reduce pores while improving tone, texture, and shine over time.

The line’s launch included cleanser, toner-serum hybrid, and moisturizer/SPF combo products that have received lots of press. We tested each and compiled all the info here.

Fenty Skin’s Total Cleans’r uses a non-drying formula that lathers into a luxurious lather to remove all traces of dirt, long-wear makeup, and pollutants from your face without drying it out. Made with coconut-derived cleansers, glycerin (an emollient that hydrates), and panthenol (a humectant that draws in moisture into the skin), this face wash leaves your complexion soft, smooth, and glowing while giving off tropical aromas from antioxidant-rich green tea, fig, and quince; comes packaged in an ultra-durable twistable lock top tube made with 40% PCR plastic making it 100% recyclable!

Fenty Skin’s Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum is the next step in your skincare regimen, providing long-term dark spot improvement using niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. In addition, this multitasking liquid targets pores while simultaneously targeting radiance, tone, and texture improvement, fighting shine protection with built-in SPF 50 protection, and the refreshing scent of Barbados cherry, Kalahari melons, and fig makes this step super refreshing – helping give your complexion that glowing look you craved!

This toner serum bomb is oil-free and comes packaged in an airless pump bottle to ensure freshness. Packed with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and aloe vera to soothe your complexion; plus, shea butter adds extra nourishment.

Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer and SPF from Fenty Skin Care should be the final step of your skincare regime since it’s oil-free. Boasting an SPF rating designed to protect against UVA and UVB rays and leaving no chalky white cast when applied over darker complexions like other SPFs may do, as well as having an aroma reminiscent of rosewater (an added plus!).

Toner

Fenty Skin’s Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum from Fenty Skin uses Barbados cherry extract and niacinamide to reduce dark spots while even out skin tone, while vitamin C brightens further. Plus, it’s thick enough to be patted directly onto the skin for maximum benefits! Suitable for all skin tones!

Fenty Skin’s mantra is “The New Culture of Skincare,” so most of their products feature short ingredient lists–such as vitamin C and BHA for smoothing skin and controlling oil production–with many refillable products to minimize plastic use.

Fenty products boast a wonderful scent you’ll enjoy: coconut, fig, and melon blend that can help to relax you when dealing with breakouts or redness. In particular, Fat Water Hydrating Milky Toner Essence was recently released on Friday as an effort to help hydrate dry skin; its formula features nourishing hyaluronic acid for moisture replenishment as well as green tea extract and ginkgo biloba to manage oil and environmental stressors.

Moisturizer

As an avid skincare enthusiast, I always search for the following holy grail products. That’s why I was delighted to hear of Fenty Skin from Rihanna – her collection of beauty products that aims to brighten skin, shrink pores, and target dark spots through three products: cleanser, toner-serum hybrid, and moisturizer/SPF products.

Fenty Skin’s Total Cleans’r Remove-It-All Cleanser was my first trial product. This non-greasy foaming cleanser features Barbados cherry, ginkgo biloba, green tea, fig, and quince to control oil, reduce breakouts, and fade dark spots while providing anti-discoloration support with niacinamide to fade discolorations and even out skin tone – not to mention a fantastic coconut, melon and fig aromatherapy experience! It left my skin soft and smooth while smelling divine with coconut melon melon fig notes.

Fenty Skin Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum was our following product. This multitasking toner-serum contains niacinamide and botanical extracts such as coconut, fig, and quince to reduce pore appearance while fighting breakouts and boosting skin hydration for a youthful, plump look. Hyaluronic acid can store up to 1,000 times its weight in water to give the skin extra hydration for a plumper skin texture; plus, this formula’s thick consistency means direct application onto the skin – perfect!

Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen is an invisible suncream-meet-moisturizer with UVA/UVB protection in an easy and light non-greasy formula, boasting a light pink tint that blends into skin tones beautifully. Additionally, makeup-friendly Kalahari Melon helps quench dry skin. Further, neither oxybenzone nor octinoxate, linked with ocean coral bleaching processes, have been included in its composition.

Fenty Skin products are now available online and in stores alike, with complete collections (Total Cleans’r, Fat Water, Hydra Vizor) selling for $45 at Ulta, or you can buy just the moisturizer and sunscreen to see how your skin reacts – prices for celebrity skincare being extremely affordable! I have already placed my order and can’t wait to see how they respond to me!

Sunscreen

Fenty Skin’s three core multitasking products–Total Cleans’r Remove-It-All Cleanser, Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum, and Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum Sunscreen–work in tandem to brighten skin, tighten pores and target dark spots. It is packed with Barbados cherry, ginkgo biloba, green tea, fig, and quince for oil control, brightening of complexion, and anti-aging benefits. At the same time, this powerful formula contains niacinamide for dark spot reduction as well as a new technology called Retinol Acid that increases cell turnover for fine lines and wrinkles improvement.

The moisturizer and sunscreen combo is lightweight and oil-free, blending effortlessly to give a beautiful glow on darker skin tones without creating a white cast. Formulated with chemical UV filters like Avobenzone, Homasalate, and Octisalate, they may not provide adequate UV protection as physical filters. Still, they may cause less skin irritation for people with sensitive skin. Plus, it’s reef safe: free from Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, which have been linked with coral bleaching!

Smelling like fresh desert melons, this refill bottle features an elegant design that fits comfortably in your hand. Dermatologists tested this noncomedogenic, pore-free formula, which promises hydration and protection with vitamin C, baobab extract, niacinamide, and Kalahari melons rich in antioxidants and vitamins.

Traditional sunscreen has often ignored melanated skin tones, and many SPF products have an unflattering white cast that does not suit darker complexions. Rihanna recently made headlines by advocating for greater use of sunscreen among Black women through her brand, hoping that by encouraging its usage, she may help erase the stigma around it being seen as just “touristy” or unnecessary for melanated skin tones.

However, she advises that her line cannot replace broad-spectrum sunscreen; therefore, it’s crucial to apply one with SPF 30+ before applying makeup.
